Alice Mabel Bacon Championed the Dixie Hospital

In this pamphlet, reprinted from the February 1893 edition of the Southern Workman, Hampton Normal and Agricultural Institute's journal, Alice Mabel Bacon (1858–1918) described the work and studies of the nurses at the Hampton Training School for Nurses, also known as the Dixie Hospital. In 1891 Bacon had helped to establish the hospital and school. She was secretary of the hospital board through 1897 and supported the hospital until her death.
