A Postcard From Staunton Was Mailed

This promotional postcard from Staunton was postmarked on February 25, 1919. The image of the young Dutch or German boy in patched clothing and clogs and the dialect of the invitation to Staunton recalls (albeit in a less-than-flattering way) the German antecedents of the people who settled the Shenandoah Valley.
