Anne Bennett Enlisted in the Army Nurse Corps

Anne Virginia Bennett (b. 1883) was born in Pittsylvania County, and by 1918 she was living in Richmond, working as a nurse and a secretary for writer Ellen Glasgow. According to the questionnaire Bennett answered for the Virginia War History Commission, she served in the Army Nurse Corps for a year during World War I and was deployed in France for a time.
