I James Young do hereby certify that I am acquainted with Matilda one of the slaves emancipated by the will of Philip E. Vass dec'd and that to the best of my knowledge and belief the said Matilda is about thirty years of age--that she has three children as mentioned in Com'r Greens Report and that she is married to a free man as I am informed by the person (a white man named Jonathan Weadon) with whom she has been living for the last nine years.
