January 2 1847 Dr. [Dear] Sir, It is the desire of the heirs that my (late) fathers estate should be settled as soon as practicable. Some of them have agreed to take paper well secured where the interest has been paid up to 1 Jany or a new bond given with security including the interest due to that period. If therefore you can conveniently pay the amount of your bonds, or will the interest, or will execute a new bond with security for the principle & interest due to 1 Jany it will enable me to effect the wish of the heirs. I give below a statement of the bonds.
bond due 26 Jany 1838 for $100 (credits deducted) amt. 152.58 Do [Ditto] 21 July 1840 Bala Prinle. $ 397.77 Do amt. 551.56 [total] 704.14 If you should send the money or a note, request Mr Bird to [illegible] the calculations before delivering it to me - Yours with respect, Saml C Williams
