In the name of Almighty God Amen I, Robert Burton of Bedford County being of sound mind but far advanced in years and deeply impressed with the thoughts of the uncertainty of life do make this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other wills made by me heretofore. Imprimis I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Robertson fifty dollars. Item, I give and bequeath to my grand daughter Harriet Ann Robertson my molatto boy Otway Earley but if she dies without issue my will and desire is that the said boy may go to her brother Robert L. Robertson to him and his heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my grandson Robert B. Kelly the tract of Land whereon I now live, but that he the said R.B. Kelly when he arrives to the age of twenty two years old, shall pay to my other grand children the sum of Five thousand Dollars to be equally divided amongst them or the survivors of them. Item my will and desire is that my two servant girls Jenetta and Mrytilda be permitted to be hired to whom they may choose and that they may receive the benefits of their hire duly to dispose of at their own discretion and in case they marry freed men that they be paid out of my estate one hundred and fifty Dollars each, also that each one shall have a cow and calf and good feather bed furnished compleat. Item, my will and desire is that my coloured boy Richard be bound to some trade to serve four years; at the expiration of which that he be paid out of my estate one hundred dollars and further that he be hired out yearly and receive of his wages one half for his own use the other half to be paid to R. B. Kelly.
