To all to whom these presents shall come greetings Whereas I John Gadsby of the Town of Alexandria in the Commonwealth of Virginia have obtained an Injunction from the High Court of Chancery to stay proceedings at Law on a Judgment obtained by a certain James Miller & Edward Deneale in the County Court of Prince William and the said Abraham Faw having become my Security in the injunction bond in conformity to the Law and it being agreed between us that the Said Faw should be indemnifyed in case the condition of the Said Bond should not be complyed with by me. Now Know ye that I the said John Gadsby in consideration of the liability of the Said Faw as aforesaid, and of one Dollar to me in hand paid by the said Faw at and before the ensealing and delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge Have bargained sold, released granted and confirmed and by these presents Do grant bargain sell release & confirm unto the said Abraham Faw the following negro & mulutto slaves to wit, negro Tom, aged about nineteen years, negro Rene, aged about Twenty two years Mulatto John aged about Twenty five years, & mulatto Anne aged about thirty years To Have and to Hold all and Singular the said slaves negroes & mulattos unto him the said Abraha Faw to the only proper use and behoof of him the said Abraham Faw his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever.
