This Indenture made this 25th day of June one thousand eight hundred and twenty one between Thomas Rudd of the County of Campbell of the first part, John Alexander of Campbell County and Samuel Garland of the Town of Lynchburg of the second part, and Archibald Robertson of the Town of Lynchburg of the third part. Whereas the said Thomas Rudd is justly indebted to the said Archibald Robertson in the sum of thirteen Hundred & fifty three dollars & fifteen cents to be paid on the 25th day of October next, as by a bond bearing even date with this indenture more fully appears, which debt the said Thomas Rudd is willing and desirous to secure. Now this Indenture witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the premises, and also for the further consideration of one Dollar, of the lawful money of Virginia to the said Thomas Rudd in hand pair by the said John Alexander & Samuel Garland, at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, he the said Thomas Rudd, hath given, granted, bargained, sold aliened enfeoffed, released and confirmed, and by these presents doth give, grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff release and confirm to the said John Alexander & Samuel Garland, their heirs and assigns for ever, a certain tract or parcel of Land lying in the County of Campbell on Big Falling River containing eight and a half acres together with a Grist and Saw Mill thereon conveyed to him by John Cobbs & Publias Jones also one other tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Campbell conveyed to him by Elias Jones containing three hundred & Eighty six acres, also one other tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the Country of Campbell conveyed to him by Thomas & David Jones containing one hundred acres, also three other tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the County of Campbell conveyed to him by Matthew Hairfield containing six hundred and fifty five acres, together with a saw mill thereon, be the said tracts or parcels of land more on less, also the following slaves
