John 4 Burcher and his wife, Elizabeth Garrow Burcher, were parties in a lawsuit August 7, 1792 relative to the estate of Robert Hay, a kinsman. (York Deeds No. 7, p. 63) They also gave a deed for two lots in Yorktown to John Hay Bryan dated February 18, 1793. This transaction was also as a result of the same lawsuit. This John 4 Burcher died before the 1810 Census and Elizabeth Burcher gave to the enumerator the information about her family. It shows that there were three children: 1 male under 10 years of age 1 male between 10 and 16 1 female between 10 and 16 1 female between 26 and 45 Using this information is appears that: Elizabeth Garrow Burcher was born between 1765 and 1784 maybe around 1780. She had: (A) 1 son born between 1794-1800 (B) 1 daughter born between 1794-1800 (C) 1 son John 5 Burcher born 1800-1809, more specifically by November 17, 1805 force was named in his Garrow grandfather's will. The children of this John 4 Burcher would have been contemporaries of the children of William 1 Burcher of York and later of Warwick County. Nothing is known about the two older children, namely, (A) and (B).
