Wells, William District of Columbia Alexandria County, VA

Personally appeared before me the undersigned Justices of Peace for said County, Andrew [Dumay?] of said County, who made Oath in due form of Law; That William Wells of County of Essex in the Kingdom of Great Britain hath resided within the United States for Five years and upwards previous to the 18th Day of June One Thousand eight Hundred [illegible] and within the County of Alexandria for Twelve Months last past, and that during siad residence he hath behaved himself and supported a good Moral Character, Attached to the Principles of the Constitution of the United States, and will disposed to the good order and [illegible] of the same. Given under my Hand and Seal this 28th Day of April 1814. [signature illegible - seal]
