As to Blunts [suspicions?] of the Totteros and his cautiousness to offer any Injury to them as being Tributarys of Virginia, I cannot say they are under our protection any otherwise than [that?] they are permitted to come amongst our Tributarys as a people that have never been discovered in any mischief or ill designs agt our Inhabitants and showed themselves very well affected to the Governmt when our Indian Traders were rob'd, going out immediatly in search of those Indians with some of whom they fell in & killed two or three.  their number is so small not exceeding 8 men in all that Blunts people need be under no great dread of them, but I cannot
