I, William Gray, make the following report of my self to the County Court of Norfolk County in the state of Virginia being a court of record, that is to say I report that I was born in the County of Norfolk in that part of Great Brittain called England, on the day of [Apil?] 1817 being now in the 35th year of my age; that I am a subject of the Queen of England owing allegiance to that monarch And none other that I migrated from the Kingdom of Great Brittain to the United states, in the year 1851 and that I intend to settle myself in the county of Norfolk in the state of Virginia one of the United states. That is is bona fida my intention to be Cime [become] a citizen of the United states, and to renounce forever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign Prince, Potentate state, or Sovereign whatever and particularly to Victoria the [frist?] Queen of Great Brittain. Liven under my hand this 23_ day Octo [October] A.D. 1856.
