ENTERTAINMENTS IN THE PARKS ON JUNE 8th, 1946. AT THE COCKPIT IN HYDE PARK 3.00-3.10 Selections will be played by a Nautical Orchestra 3.10-3.30 Display of Folk Dancing by a team of London schoolchildren 4.00-4.20 Community Singing. 5.00-5.45 Children's Ballet, followed by Selections by the Nautical Orchestra. 5.45-7.30 Military Band Concert and Community Singing. 7.00 Display by Scottish Pipers and Dancers. Between the hours of 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Punch and Judy entertainments will be given at hourly intervals. AT THE BANDSTAND IN HYDE PARK 3.00-5.45 Salvation Army Regent Hall Band. Community Singing. REGENT'S PARK OPEN AIR THEATRE 3.00 Shakespeare's "AS YOU LIKE IT" presented by the Robert Atkins Bankside Players. GLOUCESTER GREEN 5.45-7.30 Public Dancing to Military Dance Bands. 7.30-9.30 Open Air Dancing to the music of Military Dance Bands in Hyde Park, Green Park, St. James' Park, and Regent's Park. 10.00-11.45 A Firework and Searchlight Display on the River Thames, between Vauxhall and Hungerford Bridges. 10.00 His Majesty the King will travel by water from Chelsea passing under Westminster and Waterloo bridges, then sweep back to the landing stage at the Houses of Parliament. A Salute will be given by Searchlights and Aerial Maroons of Anti-Aircraft Command, and by the playing of the National Anthem relayed by 500 loudspeakers, followed by national music. 10.20 The River Thames will be floodlit between the Westminster and Lambeth Bridges; A coloured water display by 800 jets from firefloats and a number of specially equipped barges, banned by personnel from the National Fire Service on both sides of Lambeth and Westminster Bridges. 10.30 A discharge of 200 rockets will announce the commencement of a Firework Display by Messrs C. T. Brock and Co. 10.45 A Searchlight and Aquatic Firework Display, accompanied by Illuminated Firefoam from firefloats. 10.55 Arrival of R.A.F. aircraft caught in the beams of Searchlights. 11.00 Interlude for Fireworks, including set-pieces from a number of barges moored opposite the Houses of Parliament. 11.15 Arrival of further Aircraft. Aquatic Display with Firework jets from the temporary bridges on either side of Westminster and Lambeth Bridges. 11.30 Cascades of Fire from the temporary bridges and a Devil's Tattoo, accompanied by a coloured Water Display. A brief concert of popular music relayed by loudspeakers. 11.45 The firing of 50 magnesium shells will announce the end of the Display, and Military Bands will play the National Anthem.
