14 which this Defendant begs leave to refer to & prays may be taken as part of his answer. This Defendant begs leave further to state that the said Crockett is not bound by any agreement with him to give him any aid in the freedom suit of the Complainant. That the said Crockett has already been at considerable trouble in the s'd suit for this Defendant for which he charges this defendant nothing. & utterly refused to attend again where the s'd Philip will be engaged in taking Testimony. This Defendant prays that the prayer of the Complainants bill may not be granted &c [etc.]

Wythe County to wit, This day Frederick Idle made oath before me a Justice of the peace for the said County that what is contained in the foregoing answer as far as stated to be within his own knowledge is true, and what is derived from the information of others he believes to be true.
