To the honble. William Gooch Esqre. his maty’s. Lieut. Governor in council Benja. Roberts humbly sheweth That the petr’s.[petitioner's] father John Roberts did in the year 1724 enter for & survey four hundred acres of Land in Spotsylvania County in the fork of Rappa. River, & on both sides of the mountain Run, upon the Encouragemt. of the Kings Bounty the platt whereof the said John returned into the Secretary’s Office, and soon after departed this life; & by his last Will & Testament did devise the sd. land to the petr. who was then an Infant, and by reason of his continuing a minor for sevl. years thereafter, no Patent hath ever issued for the said Land Wherefore he humbly prays a Patent may now be granted him for the same And he shall pray etc.
