Mt Rest Clayashland Aug 16th 1867 Ms M. C. Lee Dear madam I received you letter by the ship Golconda, which afforded us all much comfort to heare from you and family and many of our friends and relations. We regret exceedingly to learn from your letter that you are still a cripple from rheumatism. We are glad however to heare that your health is good. Mr Fitzhugh Lee I have no doubt will find the White House a pleasant place to live at as it is a pritty place, and has many advantages to other places about there.
