Know all men by these presents, that we John Benson and John S. [Bilisoly?] are held and firmly bound unto the commonwealth of Virginia in the just and full sum of two hundred and seventy dollars, for the true payment of which we bind ourselves jointly and severally, our joint and several heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals. Dated this 27th day of May in the year 1850. The condition of the above obligation is such, that whereas the county court of Norfolk County in the 20th day of May 1850, ordered and directed the overseers of the poor to bind out according to law Henry Pitt a free negro boy of the age of twelve years to John Benson, until he arrives to the age of twenty one years, to learn the occupation of a farmer, the said Benson to pay to the mother of Henry Pitt the sum of twenty dollars per annum until he is fifteen years of age, and from fifteen to twenty one years thirty five dollars annually,
