This Indenture made and entered into this the Eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven and in the Thirty first year of the Independence of the United States of America. Between [Dardan?] W. Bryant Davis Bryant and Augustine Pope overseers of the poor in the lower district of St. Luke parish in the County of Southampton and State of Virginia of the one part and Benjamin E. Vick of the County and [State?] of the other  part, witnesseth that the said Dardan W. Bryant Davis Bryant and Augustine Pope overseers as aforesaid have [illegible] and bound and these presents do put place  and bind Mary Whitfield a free negro girl daughter of Ann Whitfield. Which girl was born August the 15th, 1828 to be an apprentice with him the said Benja E Vick and as an apprentice with him
