This Indenture made and entered into this the Eighteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty seven and in the Thirty first year of the Independence of the United States of America. Between [Dardan?] W. Bryant Davis Bryant and Augustine Pope overseers of the poor in the lower district of St. Luke parish in the County of Southampton and State of Virginia of the one part and Benjamin E. Vick of the County and [State?] of the other part, witnesseth that the said Dardan W.
