This Indenture made this 20th day January in the year of Lord 1834 between David Street and Peter W Street two of the overseers of the poor in the "[blank]" of Lunenberg of the one part and Job Savill of the same County of the other part Witnesseth, that the said, David Street, and Peter W Street overseers of the poor as aforesaid by virtue of an order of the County Court of Lunenburg bearing date the 13th day of January 1834 Have put placed and bound and by do by these presents put place and bind Washington Brown, a free boy of colour, of the age of seven years to be an apprentice with him the said Job Savill to dwell from the date of these presents untill the said Washington Brown shall come to the age of twenty one years according to the act of Assembly in that case made and provided. By and during all which time and term the said Washington Brown, shall the said Job Savill his said master well and faithfully serve an all such lawfull business as the said Washington Brown shall be put unto by his said master, according to the power wit and ability of him the said Washington Brown and honestly and obediently in all things shall behave himself towards his said master and honestly and orderly towards the rest of the family of the said Job Savill and the said Job Savill for his part for himself his Executors and administrators doth hereby promise and covenant to and with the said Overseer of the poor and every of them, their and every of their Executors and administrators and their and every of their Successors for the time being and to and with the said Washington Brown, that he the said Job Savill shall the said Washington Brown, in the Craft mystery and occupation of a Wheelwright and Waggon maker, which he the said Job Savill now useth, after the best manner he can to teach inform and instruct or Cause to be taught informed and instructed as much as thereunto belongeth or in any wise appertaineth. And the said Job Savill shall also find and allow, unto the said Apprentice sufficient meat, drink, apparell washing lodging and all things sufficient and meet for an apprentice during the term aforesaid. And shall moreover pay to the said Brown, the sum of twelve dollars at the expiration of the aforesaid term In Testimony whereof the parties to these presents interchangeably set their and affixed their seals the day and year first above written.
