The Right Honourable Thomas Lord Fairfax Baron of Cameron in that Part of Great Britain Call'd Siskland Proprietor of the Northern Neck of Virginia To All to Whom this Present Writing shall come send Greeting Know Ye that for Good Causes for & in Consideration of the Composition for my use Paid And for the Annual Rent hereafter Reserved I have Given Granted and Confirmed And by these Presents for me my Heirs and Assigns do Give Grant & Confirm unto James Bland Junr. a certain Tract or Parcel of Wast land situate in the County of Prince William on the North Side of the main Run of Occoquan & bounded as by a Survey thereof made by Mr. James Thomas Pursuant to a Warrant to him directed as followeth Begining at, A, a Beach on the Side of the said Run Mark'd W B F S. I B. Corner to William Bland Francis Stone & James Bland Sen. where also mark d two White Oaks — Thence along the said Stone and Blands line No. 38º. 30º Wt [West] One Hundred Fifty Poles to, B, a White Oak & two small red Oaks Corner to the said William Bland and William Davis thence along their line So. 54º Wt. One Hundred thirty three Poles to, C, a Stake thence No. 10º. Wt. One Hundred Seventy two Poles to, D, three red oaks standing triangular on the Side of Reevs Mill Branch thence down the said Branch and binding therwith So. 25º. Wt. Fifty four Poles So. 5º. Wt. Twenty Poles So. 12º. Et. Thirty four Poles So. 33º. Wt. Thirty Six Poles So. Wt. Twenty four Poles to the End of Reevs's Mill Dam So. 12º. Wt. Eighteen Poles So. 7º. Et. Forty Eight Poles to, E, a Red Oak on the Branch Side Corner to the land Survey'd for Thomas Davis thence with his line So. 40º. Et. Ninety one Poles to ,F, Two large red Oaks Corner to the said Davis thence So. 14º. Wt. Thirty four Poles, G. a white Oak & red Oak Corner to the said Davis and William Bland thence with the said Blands line No. 70º. Et. Seventy two Poles to ,H, a Gum tree on the Side of Occoquan thence down the said run and binding therewith No. 6º. 30º. Et. Ninety Six Poles No. 81º Et. Ten Poles So. 89º. Et. Twenty eight Poles So. 81 Et. Sixty four Poles South Twenty five Poles to the said William Blands line at ,I, thence with his lines No. 85º. Et. Forty Poles to ,K, So. 39º. Et. Fifty Poles to the said Run at ,L, thence binding with the said Run No. 18º. Wt. Seventy four Poles to the Begining Containing two Hundred & Seventy One Acres Together with all Rights Members and Appurtinances thereunto belonging Royal Mines Excepted and a full third Part of all Lead Copper Tinn Coals Iron Mines and Iron Ore that shall be found thereon To Have and to Hold the said Two Hundred and Seventy One Acres of Land Together with all Rights Profits & Benefits to the same belonging or in any Wise — Appertaining except before Excepted to him the said James Bland his Heirs and assigns for ever, He the said James Roland his heirs and assigns therefore yielding and paying unto me my heirs and assigns or to my certain attorney or attorneys agent or agents or to the certain attorney or attorneys of my heirs and assigns proprietors of the sd northern neck yearly and every year on the feast day of St. Michael the Archangel the fee rent of one shilling sterling money for every fifty acres of land hereby granted and so proportionably for a greater or lesser quantity provided that if he the The said James Bland his heirs or assigns shall not pay the before reserved annual rent so that the same or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by the space of two whole years after the same shall become due if lawfully demanded that then it shall and may be lawfull for me my heirs or assigns proprietors as aforesaid my or their certain attorney or attorneys agent or agents into the above granted promises to reenter and hold the same so as if this grant had never pass’d given at any office in the county of Prince Willm. within my sd. proprietary under my seal witness my agent and attorney fully authoris’d thereto dated the twenty seventh day of November in the sixteenth year of the reign of our sovereign lord George the second and ano one thousand seven hundred and forty two [T?] Fairfax James Bland Junor.
