At the University, the woman's college would find a ready made academic standard, a ready made academic tradition, a ready made intellectual impetus. Here also a ready made teaching staff which could be enlarged year by year to meet the need of the increasing body of women students. Here in short was just the article desired at a cost far lower than that at which it could be attained at any other point, for the separate college has to pay dearly for just these assets. Instead found a coordinate college at Charlottesville affiliated with the University of Virginia, a college with separate class room and dormitories for its students on a separate campus, a college combining the maximum of privacy with the maximum of educational efficiany.
