Dear Mrs. Munford Replying to your favor of the 6th beg to say that I knew your husband well when he lived in Chatham. He and my Father were friends. Meeting a number of us at one time you no doubt do not remember me; but I was present at a meeting addressed by you in Chatham several years ago at Miss Bessie Tredways residence. With reference to the coordinate college for Women; beg to say that I should be very glad to see it establishedand [sic] think it should be. I know Dr. Rison well; but I understand that he already favors it. I will try to see or write to the members of the legislature from this county and ask their support; but further than this I know of no way that I can help you. I shall be so crowded with work for the next two months that it will be impossible for me to undertake to do more than this. Wishing you success I remain with respect yrs very [Faj?] J H Whitehead
