[newspaper clipping] Suffrage league meets here Friday 1917 Mrs. Jesse R. Townsend, chairman of the Equal Suffrage League for the second congressional district of Virginia, has called a meeting of the members of the league in this district to be held in Norfolk, Friday, November 28, in the headquarters in W. Freemason street. This will be the first convention of the league and delegates from Southampton, Nansemond, Isle of Wight, princess Anne, Virginia Beach and Norfolk will be present. All suffragists are invited to attend. The meeting will be opened at three o'cock. Mrs. B. B. Valentine's survey of the suffrage situation in Virginia will be given and the federal drive will be explained.
