A MONEY MAKING PLAN

The Bronx League of Women Voters is trying out a unique scheme to raise money for a permanent headquarters. Mrs. J. K. Small, leader of the 8th A.D. has with great enthusiasm started the PYRAMID PLAN, which operates as follows: Twelve women are selected to form the base of the pyramid, and each of the twelve gives twenty-five cents into a general fund. Each of the twelve then invites eight other women (or men) to contribute the same amount of money; each of the eight askes six; each of the six, four; each of the four, two; and each of the two, one which makes the apex of the pyramid.

Financially the plan nets good returns.

12 women at 25 cents..................$3.00 96 women (12x8) at 25 cents.......24.00 576 women (96x6) at 25 cents......144.00 2304 women (576x4) at 25 cents......576.00 4608 women (2304x2) at 25 cents....1,152.00 4608 women (4608x1) at 25 cents....1,152.00 Total..................................................$3,051.00

The number of women to start with is left to each League. In order to make the money raising pleasant, the Bronx women are holding little social affiars for each group, serving only two kinds of refreshments at each and sometiems having an entertainment and sometimes not. This plan can be used to adavantage in upstate counties as well as in city boroughs, and is recommended for its simplicity and effectiveness.
