what the fifty Dollars was paid for, but in part payment of said bond. I gave a deposition some year? ago at Halifax Courthouse in which I stated that Mr. Royall paid me fifty Dollars and also paid me the bond & interest as receipted. I done that from the paper shown me by Mr. Royall & supposed at the time that I had another bond on Mr. Shelton which the fifty Dollars was credited on. Afterwards I found a statement showing to my satisfaction that I had traded all the bonds I held on Shelton except this Sixty Dollar bond to Bowling Eldridge before 1835, which bond had all been paid off before the fifty Dollars was paid. So I am bound to believe the fifty Dollars paid by Mr Royall in 1835 was paid in part of this same bond, it has been so long ago, I cannot say that Mr Royall did not pay me the whole amount & interest of the bond at the date of the receipt on the bond. what the fifty Dollars was paid for, but in part payment of said bond. (the receipt names no particular amount but I do not now think he did). And further this deponent saith not.
