what the fifty Dollars was paid for, but in part payment of said bond. I gave a deposition some year? ago at Halifax Courthouse in which I stated that Mr. Royall paid me fifty Dollars and also paid me the bond & interest as receipted. I done that from the paper shown me by Mr. Royall & supposed at the time that I had another bond on Mr. Shelton which the fifty Dollars was credited on. Afterwards I found a statement showing to my satisfaction that I had traded all the bonds I held on Shelton except this Sixty Dollar bond to Bowling Eldridge before 1835, which bond had all been paid off before the fifty Dollars was paid. So I am bound to believe the fifty Dollars paid by Mr Royall in 1835 was paid in part of this same bond, it has been so long ago, I cannot say that Mr Royall did not pay me the whole amount & interest of the bond at the date of the receipt on the bond. (the receipt names no particular amount but I do not now think he did). And further this deponent saith not.
