The deposition of Robert Wilson taken in the Clerks office of Pittsylvania County on Monday the 16" day of August 1841 between the rising & setting sun of that day according to notice duly given to be read as evidence in a suit now pending on the Chancery side of the Circuit Superior Court of Law & Chancery for the County of Halifax in which Eliza M. Bennett adm'x. of Abner C. Shelton and John R. Bennett adm'r in right of his wife are plaintiffs and Francis L. Royall is defendant.  The deponent being first sworn according to law deposes and says That on the 31st May 1838 That Francis L Royall paid to me the sum of Eighteen Dollars and thirty seven Cents in full of a bond due from Abner C Shelton to Samuel Pannill surviving Partner of Dickenson Pannill & Co for which I executed a receipt to said Royall on back of said bond  and further this deponent Saith Not.  Robt. Wilson    Pittsylvania Court Sct  The foregoing deposition was taken sworn and subscribed to by Robert Wilson before me a Justice of the peace for said County at the time and place mentioned in the Caption  Given under my hand this 16" Augt 1841  David H Clark JP.  This deposition being closed the taking of other depositions as refered to in the notice is post
