Lynchburg 3rd Septr 1847 Mr. John H. Smith - Farmville Sir: Please take notice that I shall on the 22nd Septr next at the Law Office of Mosby Speed in the Town of Lynchburg proceed to take the depositions of Sundry persons to be Read as Evidence in a Suit now pending and undetermined in the Circuit Superior Court of Law & Chancery for the county of Prince Edward wherein I as the Guardian and next friend of Henry Jackson an Infant am plaintiff and you and others are defendants and if from any cause the said depositions should not be taken on that day I shall continue from day to day untill they are completed yrs etc. Pleasant Labby
