Lovingston, Va. Dec 2. 1942

Hello Sonny -

Received your letter this morn, so good to hear from you. many thanks for what I found in it. the weather is [clod?] & rough here this morn I am sticking clost to the fire while sitting here thought I'd try & write you a few lines I don't want to tell you how much I miss you afraid you would get home sick I get so lonely I keep my Kitties in the house with me nearly all the time I let them stay in at night old mama scratches on the door when she wants to get out. Yes Gene [Eugene Basil Harris] goes [afer or afen?]the feed but [hafen ?] pay him. the old hens is not doing much get 15 to 18 eggs a day get around 100 pullets eggs the one on the out side doing nothing but eating. Daddy [Robert Basil Harris] is so slow do nothing but talk I don't guess he will ever build another house I hope you will be lucky
