Lovingston, Va. Dec 2. 1942

Hello Sonny - I received your letter this morn, so good to hear from you. many thanks for what I found in it. the weather is [cold?] & rough here this morn I am sticking [close?] to the fire while sitting here thought I'd try & write you a few lines I don't want to tell you how much I miss you afraid you would get home sick I get so lonely I keep my kitties in the house with me nearly all the time I let them stay in at night old mama scratches on the door when she wants to go out. [illegible] Jene goes [often?] the feed but [illegible] pay him. the old hens is not doing much get 15 to 18 eggy a day get around 100 pullets eggs the one on the out side doing nothing but eating. Daddy is so slow do nothing but talk I don't guess he will ever build another home I hope you will be lucky
