112 Richmond Va. April 3 - 1918 The Annual Meeting of the Va. Branch of the National Woman's Party was held at the Jefferson Hotel with the chairman Mrs. Sophie G. Meredith presiding. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and approved The Treasurer Mrs. [Dorothy Tait] Urquhart being absent her report was read by the Secretary and accepted. The balance reported in the treasury was $55.26. Mrs. Walter Adams [Pauline Forstall Colclough Adams] of Norfolk, 1st Vice Chairman, gave an interesting and encouraging report. A supper was given for her in Norfolk when she returned from Occaquan [Occoquan Work House]. Mrs. Adams gave an account of her prison experiences at the supper and said that the pickets by standing on the picket line had been helping the Democrats to keep their promises. New members were secured for the Norfolk Branch after her talk. Lucy Branham and Mary Winsor gave a well advertised meeting and several street meetings were held at which Maud Jameison [Maud Jamison] also a picket spoke. Mrs. Adams reported that
