Oct 4th 18 My dear Mother I got two letters from you yesterday one written August 5th and the eleventh. I don't understand how that was, for I have letters from you before that and written as late as August the thirty first. But expect they must have come a different way. I have been writing you all right along and I hope you have been getting my letters. John Cox had a letter from Charlie said that Dick had been made a Captain and Murrell Alexander a Major was so glad to hear that, Private Craddock would like to see some of those boys. Camp is not here with us now his company went on farther up , Saw a man from his company to take said that Camp had been put in charge of one the wards
