Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Swann of the Town of Alexandria for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Thomas Triplett of the Town of Alexandria the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge. Have bargained sold and delivered, and by these presents Do Bargain sell and Deliver unto the said Thomas Triplett a negroe man slave named Dandridge. To Have and to hold the said negroe slave unto the said Thomas Triplett his executors, administrators, and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Thomas Triplett his executors administrators and assigns forever and I the said Thomas Swann for myself and my heirs do hereby warrant and defend the said negro slave unto the said Triplett his executors, administrators, and assigns against the claim and demand of all and every person and persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twelfth day of November One Thousand Eight Hundred and nine Tho Swann {Seal}
