Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Swann of the Town of Alexandria for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Thomas [Triplite?] of the Town of Alexandria the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge. Have bargaind sold and delivered, and by these presents Do Bargain sell and Deliver unto the said Thomas [Triplite] a negroe man slave named Dandridge - To Have and to hold the said negroe slave unto the said Thomas [Triplite?] his executors, administrators, and assigns to the only proper use and [behoof?] of the said Thomas [Triplite?] his executors administrators and assigns for ever and I the said Thomas Swann for myself and my heirs do hereby [warrant?] and defend the said negro slave unto the said Triplite his executors, administrators, and assigns against the claim and demand of all and every person and persons whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereby sel my hand and [affind?] my [shall?] this twelfth day of November One Thousand Eight Hundred and nine sealed and delivered in presence of Hugh W.
