Know all men by these presents that I Margaret Galloway of the Town of Winchester in the County of Frederick and Commonwealth of Virginia, in consideration of the natural love and affection which I bear to my Grand-Children, Margaret M. Galloway, David W. Galloway, James B. Galloway, Charles A. Galloway, and Richard L. Galloway, Children of my son Richard L. Galloway, of the Town of Alexandria in the district of Columbia, have given granted, conveyed & delivered, And by these presents Do give, grant, Convey and deliver, unto them the said Margaret M David W. James B. Charles A. and Richard L. Galloway, one Negro boy about eighteen years of age named William, a slave for life or the proceeds to arise from a sale of same, To Have and to Hold the proceeds of the sale of the said Negro Or the said Negro boy William, unto them the said Margaret M. David W. James B. Charles A. and Richard L. Galloway their Heirs, Executors, Administrators, and assigns forever, Provided nevertheless that, whereas the said donees are infants under the age of twenty one years, and incapable of managing the said slave, nor could he be in any way divided among them, without being first
