On the petition of Tamar a black woman who conceives herself to be illegally detained in slavery by Samuel Carr, and the facts in said petition set forth being supported to the satisfaction of the Court by accompanying affidavits, the Court doth appoint Phillip P. Barborn as counsel to prosecute this suit against said Samuel Carr, and the said Barborn giving it as his opinion,[?] being also themselves of opinion that the petitioner is entitled to freedom.
