To all to whom these presents shall come greetings whereas I Hannah Martin of the county of Lancaster am (together with Leroy Pope of the County of Amherst and John Martin of the county of Lancaster) held and firmly bound unto Job Carter of the county of Lancaster aforesaid in two separate bonds both dated the eighth day of December one thousand seven hundred and ninety and payable on the ninth day of the of the same month and year, one for the sum of two hundred pounds current money of Virginia conditioned for the payment of one hundred pounds the like money, and the other for the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds ten shillings and eight pence current money of Virginia conditioned for the payment of seventy eight pounds fifteen shillings and for pence of the like money- and whereas it is likely that the said Job Carter may suffer by means of the nonpayment of the said recited obligations, and in order to avoid all doubts and difficulties that may hereafter arise in consequences thereof. [Know ye] that I the said Hannah Martin for and in consideration of the premises an also for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings current money of Virginia to me in hand paid by the said Job Carter at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained, sold and delivered, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell and deliver unto the said Job Carter the following property [to will?]- Negroes, James, Hannah, Lewis, Frank, Isaac and Emmanuel together with my household, furniture and stock of all kinds [count?], live beds and furniture, one dressing table and [illegible], one chest of drawers, one desk, fourteen chairs, one armed [illegible], one black walnut table, twenty eight [pewter?] plates, four [illegible], one [pewter?] dish, twenty one [pewter?] table [spoons?] one bell [illegible], one skillet, two pots and hooks, one kettle, 2 [slot pots]
