This Indenture made and entered into this Third day of October 1837 between Warner C Lunsford of the first part Benjamin M Walker of the second part and Benj Waddy, & Waddy Downing & Brown of the third part all of the County of Lancaster & State of Virginia, Whereas the said Warner C Lunsford is Justly indebted to the said Benjamin Waddy in the sum of Two hundred seventy three dolls & 24 cts and the said Waddy Downing & Brown in the sum of One hundred and ninety dollars and ninety cents all of which will more fully appear by reference to his bonds dated this day which debts with the legal Interest he the said Warner C Lunsford is willing and desirous to secure Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Warner C Lunsford for & in consideration as well of the premises as of the sum of one dollar in hand paid by the said Benjamin M Walker - the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained & sold & by these presents doth bargain sell and convey unto the said Benj M Walker his heirs exors &c the following property to wit one Negro named David and all the right title & Interest which he the said Warner C Lunsford has or may have under the will of the late Sally Doggett To have and to hold all and singular the above described property with the appurtenances unto him the said Benj M Walker his heirs admrs. & assigns forever unto the proper use & behoof of him the said Benj M Walker his heirs admrs & assigns forever upon trust nevertheless that the said Benj M Walker shall suffer the said Warner C Lunsford to have hold and enjoy the above
