This Indenture made and entered into this 20th day of December 1844 between Isaac Currell of the first part. Robert T. Dunaway of the second & Benjamin M Walker of the third all of the County of Lancaster & State of Virginia - Witnesseth that the said Isaac Currell as well for and in consideration of the sum of One dollar to him in hand paid by the said Dunaway as for the further consideration of securing the following debt due the said Walker by the sd. Currell tend a Bond Executed by the said Currell to the sd. Walker on the 18th day of November 1844 for the sum of One Hundred & Eighty one Dollars & Twenty one cents, and bearing Interest from the date thereof hath this day given granted bargained sold & by these presents doth give grant bargain & sell unto the sd Dunaway his Exors: admors or assigns the following negro slaves to wit negroes Robert & Charles. To Have and to Hold the above named slaves Robert & Charles unto the sd Dunaway his Exors. admors. & assigns forever But upon this special Trust & confidence nevertheless that in case the sd Isaac Currell shall pay off & discharge the aforesaid debt of $181.21 with the legal Interest thereon accruing from the sd 18th November 1844 so that there be no default in the payment thereof when [illegible] [illegible] this Indenture and every thing herein contained shall null & void. — But in case the sd. Isaac Currell shall fail to pay off this aforesaid debt by by the sd. day of June 1845 then and in that case the sd.
