AMERICAN Y.M.C.A. ON ACTIVE SERVICE WITH THE AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE
14 March 1919
Dearest: Yours of the 24th telling me about your case of flu was received yesterday. I'm distressed to learn that it got a hold on you. Altho you up and about, yet you are not well. I leaves one weak for some time and subject to a relapse. I hope you will soon be entirely overt its bad effects. Had a letter from Fanny the same day telling me that she had just recovered from the flu. She sends my charming Pride her love and esteem. A long letter from Miss Arabel has just come. I'll try to remember to enclose it to you. She has just reached the age of 18 and now feels that she is a full grown up lady.
