Dearest: Yours of the 24th telling me about your case of flu was rec'd yesterday. I'm distressed to learn that it got a hold on you. altho you are up and about, yet you are not well. It leaves one weak for sometime and subject to bad effects. Had a letter from Fanny the same day telling me that she had just recovered from the flu. She sends my charming Pride her love & esteem.
A long letter from Miss Arabel has just came. I'll try to remember to enclose it to you. She has just reached the age of 18 and now feels that she is a full grown up lady.
