To the Honble Judge of the Circuit Court for Halifax County. Your Petitioner Thos. L. Dupree respectfully represents that on the 9th Dec 1854 he was appointed by the County Court of Franklin in the State of Missouri guardian of James A Jennett, Elizabeth C Jennett, Martha Jane Jennett, & Jno W Jennett, minor children of James A Jennett dec'd - that he regularly qualified as such - entering entering into a bond as said guardian in an amount & with security sufficient in the estimation of said Court., to secure his accountability for the whole amount of said infants estate then in his hands or which would probably be secured by him from any source whatever. All of which will more fully appear by reference to copy of the proceedings of said Court. A duly authenticated copy of of which is herewith exhibited as a part of this Petition. And your Petitioner further represents that both he & his said wards now reside in the said county of Franklin & that in the year 1856 a certain Josiah Dabbs was appointed by the County Court of Halifax as guardian of said infant children in the State of Virginia & having only qualified as said guardian has received & holds as such. Personal property & money which belongs to said infant children to the value & amount of $[blank] And your Petitioner avers that the removal of sd property & money from the State of Virginia to the State of Missouri will not impair the rights or be predjudicial to the interests of any other person And your Petitioner further represents that the sd James H. Jennett, the father, of the aforesaid infants, was the son of a certain Jno Jennett, who died in the year 1852 after having duly made & published his last will & testament which was admitted to probate in the county Court of Halifax on the 28th day of June 1852. As will appear by reference to a copy of said will duly certified & herewith exhibited as a part of the Petition - that the said James H Jennett became equally intrusted with all
