negro woman Emily, one Negro girl Kermilia, one Negro girl Agness and their future increase, It being that portion or all of my estate, which I intended for my deceased daughter Nancy Torian to him and his heirs forever; 7th I loan to my daughter Rebecca Roberson one Negro woman Harriett which I price at $600. one Negro boy Burwell price $400. one horse saddle and bridle price $65. one bed & furniture $20 one Cow and Calf $10 together with the future increase of the above Named slaves to hold during her Natural life and after her death to be equally divided between the heirs of her body to them & their heirs forever. 8th In as much as my son Christopher B Jennett is Now dead and in as much as I have given to him at Sundry times money and property to wit one Negro man Billy, horse saddle & bridle &c.) amounting in all to between eleven and twelve hundred dollars Now it is My wish and desire that his widow Mary C Jennet, do have and I hereby give to her the whole and every interest I have or may have in all the property heretofore given him by me, and this is all that I wish for her to have from my Estate; 9th I give and bequeath to my son John A Jennett one Negro Man Lewis which I price at $500. one horse saddle & Bridle Price $90 to him and his heirs forever; 10th I loan to my daughter Lizzy J Pool one Negro woman Maria which I price at $600. one negro girl Sarah Jane, price $350. and their future increase one horse saddle & Bridle price $65 one Bed & furniture $20. one Cow and Calf $10. to hold during her natural life and after her death to be divided between the heirs of her body to them & their heirs forever. 11th I direct that in case my wife and children prefer doing so they may sell with the concurrence of my Executor, the whole of my Estate in place of dividing and one third of the money arising from the sale thereof put at interest and that my wife rec; annually the interest thereon as her support this is left entirely for my wife to decide in the matter, in case my wife and my children prefer selling my land and dividing the remainder of the property they are at liberty to do so and in valuing and charging to each child as herein mentioned it is distinctly understood that I wish all my children to share equally in my Estate, 12th I do hereby Constitute and appoint my friend Josiah Dobbs Executor to this my last will and testament, In witness whereof I have this day set my hand & affixed my seal this the 5th February 1852. At a Court held for Halifax County the 28th day of June 1852. This last will and testament of John Jennett dec'd was presented in Court and proved by the oaths of 2 witnesses thereto subscribed and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Josiah Dobbs the Executor who made oath thereto according to law and with John B. Carrington and Parham Moon his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of $25,000.00 Conditioned according to law Certificate is granted him for obtaining probate thereof in due form; The securities having verified their sufficiency on oath.
