The deposition of Lucy Dickison of lawful age taken at the house of Peter Fore's the 16th March1804 by the consent of the parties both being present in a suit depending in the county court of Prince Edward in chancery. This deponant deposeth and saith that she was at Peter Fore's twelve or thirteen years ago Anthony Winston came there and said to Peter Fore's wife that he intended to give Beck & John to Charles Woodson children the sd Winston farther said to the sd. Fore's wife who shall I give Kuzzy to, to you & your other children or to Perter Fore it was some time before she spoke the sd. Winston desired that she would say, for said he you know that they are my property and I can give them to whom I please, yes says she I know that, then the sd Fore's wife said that she would rather that he the sd Winston would give Kuzzy to Peter Fore this deponant farther sayeth that there was writings drew which as she understood was a deed of gift for the sd Negroes to Peter Fore & the sd Charles Woodson children. When the witness was about to assign the sd writing, the sd Winston said observe the first child that the sd Kuzzy has after this that is born alive is to be mine to give to the sd Woodson children for there is three of them & but two Negro children and for then this deponant saith not.
