This Indenture, made the 25 day of January, in the year 1840, BETWEEN Robert Barr Jun and Mary Ann his wife of Frederick County in the State of Virginia of the one part, and Silvester Jordan of the County and State aforesaid of the other part... Witnesseth - That the said Robert Barr Jun and Mary Ann his wife For and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars current money of the United States, to them in hand paid by the said Silvester Jordan at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, and confirmed, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release, and confirm unto the said Silvester Jordan his heirs and assigns a certain Lot of land on the South Side of Piccadilla Street in the Town of Winchester and bounded as followeth Beginning at the East Corner of the House and lot belonging to Marcia Weaver thence East with the said street to the corner of Clarks lot forty three feet more or less thence South to the lot of Isaac Bunnsberry thence West forty three feet more or less thence North to the beginning, being the same lot that was conveyed to the said Robert Barr Jun by Peter Kramer and Margaret his wife by deed dated the 9th day of June 1836 and recorded in the Corporation Court of Winchester together with all and singular the rights, improvements, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever, thereunto belonging, and the reversions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all and singular the premises, with the appurtenances hereby granted unto the said Silvester Jordan his heirs and assigns, to the only proper use and behoof of the said Silvester Jordan his heirs and assigns, FOREVER...And the said Robert Barr Jun. and Mary Ann his wife hereby covenant for themselves and their heirs that they are seized of good and indefeisible estate of fee simple in the premises, and that they have good right to convey the same to the said Silvester Jordan in manner aforesaid. AND LASTLY, that the said Robert Barr Jun and Mary Ann his wife and their heirs, all and singular the premises hereby granted, with their appurtenances unto the said Silvester Jordan his heirs and assigns, against the said Robert Barr Jun and Mary Ann his wife and their heirs, and all and every other person, shall warrant and forever defend by these presents.
