THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA, To the Sheriff of Augusta County Greeting:

You are hereby commanded to summon George Vickers, a freedman, to appear at the Clerk's Office of our Circuit Court for Augusta County, at the Court House, on the first Monday in October next, to answer a bill in Chancery, exhibited against him in the said Court by Rebecca Ann Vickers, (Coloured) and unless he shall answer the said bill within the time prescribed by law, the Court will take the same for confessed, and decree accordingly ; and this he shall in no wise omit under the penalty of £100

And have then there this writ, Witness, J. N. Ryan, Clerk of our said Court, at the Court House, the 16th day of September 1867, and in the 92d [year] of the Commonwealth.

One copy to be served personally on each Defendant.
