Notice is hereby given, persuant to the 3rd Section of an act of the General Assembly of Virginia, passed 18th February 1856, entitled "An Act providing for the voluntary enslavement of the free Negroes of the Commonwealth" -- Lavinia Napper, a free woman of color, over the age of 21 years, emancipated by the will of Giles Fitzhugh, has filed, in the Circuit Court of Fauquier County, her petition, setting forth her desire to choose an owner or master -- said petition was filed in said Court, on the 9th day of April 1859--
