The Commonwealth of Virginia, to the Sherriff of Alexandria County--Greeting:
You are hereby commanded to summon Lewis Cooper.
to appear before our Circuit Court of Alexandria, at the Court-house of the said County, on the 3rd Mon. day of May 1857, to testitfy and the truth to speak on behalf of in a certain matter of controversy depending and undertermined in the said Court, between show cause, if any, he can why the land purchased by him under a decree of this court in the case of Moses L Hepburn plaintiff against Prudence Hepburn others defendants shall not be resold to satisfy the [illegible] aid instalments and interests in his said purchase of the cost and risk of said Cooper.
And this shall in no wise omit under penalty of $100; and have then there this writ. Witness, Robert Alexander Sinclair, Clerk of our said Court, at the Court-house aforesaid, this 20th Day of November 1859, and in the 81 year of this Commonwealth. R. A. Sinclair
