To the Hon: Jno: W. Tyler, Judge of the Circuit Court for the County of Alexandria: The undersigned, commissioner appointed by a decree of this Hon: Court in the suit of Moses Hepburn vs P.C. Hepburn & others, would respectfully report, that he proceeded to advertise for bids for the property ordered to be sold by an interlocutory decree in said cause, for upwards of Four weeks, in the Alexa: Gazette & National Intelligencer, a copy of which notice is herewith filed as part of this report. Your commissioner has receiv'd the following bids for said property, which are also filed herewith: No 1. Bid from Andrew Ellicott of $710 per acre, which for 9 acres & 50 poles would amount to 6571.76-- No 2. Bid from Chas: M. Taylor of $16,000 No 3. Bid from Lewis Cooper for $16,200-- For particulars of the time & mode of payment, y'r Comr. refers to the original bids filed as aforesaid-- It appearing that the bill made by Lewis Cooper, is the highest. Y'r Comr. believing it to be a fair price for the property, wo'd respectfully recommend its acceptance & that a contract for the sale be made in compliance herewith.
